How to act in outage situations

Where is the fault if radiators are cold and there is no hot water?

This may be a disturbance in the district heating distribution.

Check in the heat distribution room that the pressure gauges for the district heating supply and return lines show different values. The supply line must have at least 0.6 bar higher pressure than the return line. If the gauges show the same pressure, the fault is then in the district heating distribution. The cause may also be a clogged district heating strainer.

If you suspect a fault in your heating equipment, contact our customer service at +358 2 621 2085.

Green water from the tap / green water in the nearby environment (e.g. ditch) – what should I do?

Green water is district heating water. The water is dyed so that possible leaks can be detected more easily.

If green water comes from the tap or you see green water in the environment, it indicates a district heating leak. Contact the district heating emergency service immediately at +358 2 621 2371.

According to my district heating annual report, the temperature drop (cooling) of district heating water is too small. What does it mean?

The temperature drop (cooling) of district heating water refers to the difference between the temperature of the water entering your property and the water returning to the network.

The larger the cooling, the more efficiently your building’s district heating system is operating.

During the heating season, a good cooling level is typically 40–60°C. If the cooling becomes too small (below 15°C), you will receive an automatic notification with your invoice. No notice is sent during the summer months (June–August), as buildings are usually not heated then. A too low temperature difference may indicate a fault in the district heating system.

If you notice poor cooling, contact customer service or the fault emergency service so the situation can be checked. Pori Energia also monitors district heating cooling regularly and may proactively contact customers if issues are detected.
